Work with results: versions, changes and replacing text

Every action gives you a result under the ruler. This article shows you how to use it: switch versions, ask for changes and put the text where you need it.

How results appear

The answer appears word by word under the ruler.

Versions

When there are several versions, use the arrows to move between them. The counter shows where you are, for example "1 of 3".

To get a new result, click the round arrow to regenerate.

Copy or replace

• Click Copy to copy the result.
• In text boxes and editors, click Replace to swap your text for the result in one click.
• For Continue, the button is Add to text.

Ask for changes

1. Under a result, type an instruction in Ask for changes. For example, "make it shorter" or "mention the refund".
2. Press Enter or click Re-generate.

Bettertext edits the version on screen and adds it as a new version, so you can use the arrows to go back. This option isn't shown on translations.

Change the tone or language

The chip next to the result's title changes it:

• On most results it's Tone. Pick a tone and the result is rewritten in it as a new version.
• On a translation it's the language.

Open other menus

If you open Tone, Reply or More while a result is open, the result stays on screen.
